Stephan Eder

Chief Executive Officer

Stephan joined Pharmanovia in October 2025. He is a highly experienced leader, with over two decades leading teams and businesses in senior roles in multi-national pharma. 

Most recently, he served on the Executive Committee at Stada, a private equity backed company focusing on Generics, Specialty and Consumer Healthcare, in several commercial roles, most importantly as Head of Europe, leading a business with sales of EUR 3.5bn and over 6,000 employees. Prior to that, Stephan worked at Novartis and latterly moved over to Sandoz and Hexal, where he held a number of senior positions including CEO, Hexal/Sandoz Germany.

Stephan studied Business Administration at Vienna University and has a PhD focused on Capital Markets from University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.

James Owen

Chief Financial Officer

James joined Pharmanovia in August 2025. He has over 20 years’ finance leadership experience with a proven track record in driving growth and transformation.

Prior to joining Pharmanovia, James served as CFO for over ten years in a number of different organisations including Kantar, Pixi and Egremont.

James is a CIMA fellow with an MBA from Cranfield Business School. He graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a degree in Mathematics for Finance & Management.

Dr. Stephen Deacon

Chief Scientific Officer

Steve joined Pharmanovia as the Chief Scientific Officer in June 2022, responsible for product innovation and development, medical and regulatory affairs and clinical development.

Steve spent 30 years developing medicines initially in an academic setting with a PhD in Clinical Endocrinology and University Lecturer in Human Physiology and Clinical Biochemistry before embarking on an industry career with SmithKline Beecham, Lundbeck, Ono Pharmaceuticals and Haoma Medica.  Most recently, he was Chief Development Officer and CEO of a clinical stage biotech.  His industry experience covers all aspects of clinical research and development (Phases I-IV) from product and clinical development strategies to global program/operational management of internal and outsourced teams.

Steve has published over 70 articles including 46 peer reviewed papers and has made over 50 conference presentations. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Biology and current member of the Drug Information Association (DIA).

Mohammad Samy

Chief Operations Officer

Mohammad has been with Pharmanovia since 2015. He has over 20 years’ experience across global pharmaceutical supply chains, producment, commercial operations and technical operations.

He successfully designed and scaled the companiy’s global supply chain and external manufacturing network from inception, embedding operational excellence, resilinece and sustainable growth.

Prior to joining Pharmanovia, Mohammad worked for Pfizer, Novartis and Day Lewis group. He is a Pharmacist with a Masters in Global Supply Chain and procurement from Westminster Business School.

John Parsons

General Counsel

John joined Pharmanovia in June 2026.

He brings significant legal, compliance and governance experience across the pharmaceutical sector, having held senior roles in organisations including Organon, MSD, Gilead and Eisai. 

Peter Hames

Chief Corporate Development Officer

Peter Hames has over 15 years’ leadership experience in the pharmaceutical industry, spanning business development, portfolio strategy and corporate transactions. He began his career in commercial roles with Hospira (later acquired by Pfizer) and Mayne Pharma in Australia before joining Accord Healthcare in the UK, where he expanded into corporate and business development roles covering international markets.

His experience spans multiple geographies, including Australia and New Zealand, Europe, the Middle East and global markets.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Management Sciences from Loughborough University.

Julia Schüssler

Chief People and Culture Officer

Julia joined Pharmanovia in June 2026. She joins with extensive experience across international organisations including Opella, STADA and KPMG. She brings a strong track record in strengthening organisational capability and culture, as a driver of business performance.  She believes that culture shapes performance and is the engine that accelerates both personal and business growth.

Alison Dyson

Chief Corporate Communications Officer

Alison joined Pharmanovia in 2022 to establish the global corporate communications function.

Alison has over 25 years’ experience leading strategic communications programmes within a range of complex organisations, navigating change, strengthening reputation and engaging stakeholders with clarity and impact. Prior to joining Pharmanovia she oversaw Global Internal Communications for Mundipharma.

Prior to Mundipharma, Alison held several senior communications roles in financial services where her experience spanned executive communications, issues and crisis management, internal engagement and brand narrative.

Christoph Habereder

Head of Europe and Global Specialty

Christoph Habereder joined Pharmanovia in December 2025 from Organon, bringing over 18 years of extensive leadership expertise to the team. During his time at Organon, he established and led business operations for the DACH region, post MSD divestment, and most recently led Central & Northern Europe.

He brings to Pharmanovia a rare combination of commercial, launch strategy knowledge and direct experience navigating complex healthcare frameworks, market access and policy decision making.

Christoph has a Diploma in Political Science from Ludwig Maximilans University.

Shiraz Omar

Regional Head of Americas, CEE & CIS

Shiraz is a founding member of Pharmanovia and leads the Americas, CEE and CIS commercial organisations.

He has played an instrumental role in building the business since inception and was responsible for setting up the commercial and operation infrastructure and in bringing to Pharmanovia some of our biggest product acquisitions.

Prior to joining Pharmanovia, Shiraz worked as a Commercial Finance Director and is a Qualified Chartered Accountant.

Alex Loh

Regional Head of APAC

Prior to joining Pharmanovia, Alex spent nearly 20 years in leaderships team across in various marketing and commercial roles.

Prior to joining Pharmanovia, Alex worked at DKSH Healthcare where he set up the Indonesian business unit forging commercial outsourcing partnerships with pharma and medical device companies across Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

A pharmacist by training, Alex has also worked in a generics manufacturer as well as the Ministry of Health Malaysia.

Mohammed Shawqi

Regional Head of MEA

Mohammed joined Pharmanovia in 2020 to establish the company’s presence in the MEA region leading commercial strategy and infrastructure setup, launching products in region and ongoing distribution and sales force management, tendering and business development.

Mohammed brings to Pharmanovia over 22 years’ commercial experience gained in multinational companies including GSK, Aspen and Aguettant.
