About the role:

Pharmanovia is looking for a junior-level commercial lawyer to join its fast paced, entrepreneurial Commercial Legal Team. This is a broad role providing commercially focussed advice and support on a diverse range of legal issues to business colleagues in the various functions within Pharmanovia, including Commercial Operations, Supply Chain, In-licensing and Product Development, Regulatory Affairs and across many geographies.

The Commercial Legal Counsel will report directly into the Head of Commercial Legal but will work closely with all other members of the Legal team.  The role will involve providing support to the Head of Commercial Legal and other members of the Legal team.  The role may also involve providing first line support to stakeholders in other functions within the business.

Main responsibilities:

Negotiating, drafting and supporting on a broad range of commercial contracts and other matters, including:

  • Product Commercialisation contracts (e.g. distribution agreements, logistics services agreements; product warehousing agreements)
  • Supply Chain – e.g. product supply agreements; toll manufacturing agreements
  • Product Development agreements
  • General service agreements
  • Confidentiality / non-disclosure agreements
  • Amendments to existing legal contacts

About you:

  • Lawyer, qualified lawyer in UK, another major commonwealth jurisdiction (e.g. Aus, NZ), or a major EU jurisdiction
  • Strong academic background, educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Solid legal training, gained in respected law firm or respected in-house legal function
  • Commercial contracts experience – reviewing, drafting, negotiating
  • Excellent IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • 2 – 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE)
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical / life-sciences industry would be useful
  • Excellent English language skills – written and spoken
  • Robust drafting capability & high attention to detail
  • Demonstrated capability for legal research
  • The ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders and colleagues (both within the business and externally)
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with internal and external clients
  • Highly organised, structured and well planned
  • Able to self-motivate and work independently
  • Able to be flexible with working hours
  • Able to adapt to a fast-moving, sometimes fast-changing business environment
  • Outgoing, confident, positive mindset
