About the role:

As Investments Analyst, your role will sit within the Corporate Investment Unit (CIU) and will be primarily focused on supporting the company with its Product Development (PD) and Corporate Development (CD) strategy from a Financial and Commercial perspective.

You will be involved in the development of various financial models, perform complex analyses and be involved in the due diligence of potential PD and MB related investment opportunities.

Main responsibilities and duties:

• Performing routine market sizing analysis using epidemiology and commercial data for new PD and CD opportunities (including Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Licensing)
• Performing routine IQVIA analysis, showing the competitive landscape for potential PD and CD opportunities
• Producing financial models for PD and CD opportunities related to in-license deals, acquisition of rights to new medicine, and line-extensions related to legacy brands
• Performing routine analysis on existing PD development budget highlighting variances etc
• Supporting the financial and commercial due diligence on late stage investments related to PD
• Routinely update and maintain new and existing financial models, making changes in line with new information
• Being part of the phase 1 process of screening new drugs/molecules for the PD pipeline
• Preparation of reports, dashboards, pipeline status of live and prospective products for key stakeholders
• Preparing investment case reviews of existing PD projects, comparing actuals vs planned forecast and reporting on variances
• Using multiple data sources to highlight new PD opportunities for the business to consider in business development meetings
• Developing bespoke modelling for ad-hoc projects

About you:

This role would suit a recent graduate with a numerical background and sound business knowledge, with some experience of working in a commercial role within the pharmaceutical industry. We are also looking for:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Excellent IT skills, including MS Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to develop and build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to express financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Great organisational and project management skills
• Ability to work diligently, and under pressure, to tight deadlines
• Team player, also able to work independently
