About the role:

Reporting to the Chief Science Officer, you will lead and coordinate a team of Medical Science Liaisons, whose primary responsibility is to interact with influential healthcare providers who are on the forefront of their relative therapeutic specialties.

The Head of MSLs will collaborate with physicians and other medical experts to support trial enrolment, provide protocol training, and ensure that health care professionals have the most up to date information about medical and clinical benefits of Pharmanovia’s products.

You will oversee the retention and operation of appropriate Advisory Committees, constructed to ensure the company’s development activities are guided by Medical Experts to ensure development activities focus on generating products that fit their needs.

Main responsibilities & duties:

  • Setting up strategies to target the most relevant HCPs for Pharmanovia’s therapeutic efforts and coordinate and align key messages to position Pharmanovia as a credible partner and provider of effective treatments and medicines
  • Developing and maintaining peer-to-peer collaborations and relationships with key medical experts in the therapeutic areas covered by Pharmanovia
  • Supporting clinical development initiatives including potential investigator site identification, trial recruitment, registry, and presentation of final approved data, involved with experts to generate scientific data including investigator-initiated trials
  • Collaborating with physicians on medical affairs initiatives including publication and communication plan, advisory boards, medical education opportunities, training, and speaker development
  • Serving as a scientific peer-to-peer resource to external disease experts and internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the medical community with up-to-date medical information, robust disease expertise, and product information
  • Communicating clinical insights on new data to the company Medical Affairs and to inform medical strategy for the therapeutic area.
  • Coordinating the gathering of insights from HCPs to support business strategy such as new product development and market access.
  • Developing a strategy to train internal stakeholders on key scientific and medical topics
  • Developing an understanding of the international landscape including specialties involved in care of patients
  • Generating tactical regional plans to provide needs-based, value-added support of the medical and scientific community in-line with company goals
  • Using systems to strategically map, identify, profile, and prioritize thought leaders in line with the medical plan and goals
  • Responsibility for ensuring education and thus needs to ensure the team of MSLs are credible scientific experts in their given therapeutic area and in the product/s itself
  • Maintaining accurate reporting and documentation of MSL activities

About you:

  • An advanced scientific degree
  • Medically trained in one of Pharmanovia’s therapeutic areas
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to set clear and challenging goals while committing the organisation to improved performance, tenacious and accountable in driving results
  • Effective leader and developer of talent, able to motivate through inspiration and purpose, while maintaining the appropriate focus on performance and delivery
  • The inclination to seek and analyse data from a variety of sources to support decisions and to align others with the organisation’s overall strategy

  • Knowledge of compliance requirements and adherence to all relevant standards
